GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The combined efforts by various police resources deployed in the Garden Route District ensured that 316 suspects find themselves behind bars for several offences.
Crime combatting operations included the closing down of drug and unlicensed liquor outlets, stop and search operations, vehicle check points as well as high density patrols in crime hotspot areas.
The integrated forces arrested 80 suspects for drug related offences, 46 for possession of dangerous weapons, one for unlawful possession of ammunition, 20 undocumented persons and the other for minor offences.
Most of the arrests were executed in George, Oudtshoorn, Pacaltsdorp and Knysna.
All those arrested are expected to make their court appearances in the respective courts during this week.
