GEORGE NEWS - An elderly man was robbed of his bank card during an incident at an ATM in Heather Park earlier this week.
According to a Southern Cape police spokesperson Lieutenant-Colonel Malcolm Pojie, the incident occurred at approximately 18:00 on Tuesday 10 February when the 77-year-old complainant was withdrawing cash at an ATM in a shopping complex.
It is alleged that an unknown man, wearing a reflective vest and blue trousers, pushed the victim aside, removed his bank card from the ATM and fled the scene on foot.
The complainant only became aware later that evening that unauthorised transactions had been made on his bank account.
No arrests have been made at this stage. Police are appealing to anyone with information related to the incident to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
