BUSINESS NEWS - The Knysna Oyster Festival is just around the corner and the excitement is building!
This year's festival, from 21 to 30 June, promises the usual popular classic events as well as some fun, new family-friendly additions.
On Sunday 23 June the Scarab Market in Sedgefield will transform into a paradise for car enthusiasts with an array of classic and modern sports cars, high-performance vehicles, iconic collector cars and vintage motorcycles.
Oyster Alley on the Knysna High School sports field will be your go-to destination for a day packed with fun, food, and festivities. Open daily with free entry, it features a vibrant market with arts and crafts in the Oyster Shed Marquee, a food truck village with cosy seating, face painters, a thrift fair, Inflatable Alley, and even a thrilling owl encounter. Bring the whole family!
Spend Sunday 23 and 30 June at Totties Farm Kitchen in Rheenendal. Enjoy an artisan market, delectable food stalls, delis, fresh local produce, and live music.
On Wednesday 26 June head to Scarab Village for the Sedge Food & Wine Market, for a mix of food and wine tastings and a bustling flea market.
Keep the laughter rolling with a line-up of hilarious comedy shows. On Friday 21 June don't miss Rob van Vuuren's "Namaste Bae: Blessings and Kombucha" at 34 Waenhout.
In the Castle Lite Beer Tent on the Knysna Sports Field, Kurt Schoonraad will have you in stitches at a family-friendly show on Tuesday 25 June and South Africa's top comedy ventriloquist, Conrad Koch, will entertain you with his most famous puppet, Chester Missing, on Saturday 29 June.
If you're coming for the oysters, don't miss the exciting new interactive Oyster Roast event, "Oysters: Roasted, Dressed, or Naked?" on Tuesday 25 June at Knysna High School sports field.
And check out the Savannah Oyster Hot Spots, where you'll be able to indulge in the famous mollusc prepared and presented in a variety of delicious ways!
From high-octane car shows, family markets and great comedy, the Knysna Oyster Festival has something for everyone.
