GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Six intensely red rose bushes welcome guests at Curro George, along with a celebratory plaque in the foyer, to commemorate this educational institution's ten-year mark in George.
With the capacity to teach and guide 250 primary and pre-primary school learners, this unique school aims to fill their classrooms with the laughter, joy, and critical thinking of young minds.
Executive head Jennifer Alexander had to pinch away the tears during their anniversary event last Friday, 1 November.
Two learners shared their beautiful testimonies, written from a place in the heart that reflects spiritual and intellectual growth.
"Thanks to Curro George I got better marks and became a better version of myself," says Bukhobenkozi Mzekeli. Rain McLeod's tribute was sincere, and firmly rooted in scripture.
Curro Holdings business manager Oriol Morgan drafted a poem for the occasion, Dr Seuss-style, which captures the heart of the school – cultivating bright, creative, and independent-thinking learners with a solid sense of self and community.
An extract of her poem reads: "You are on your way, and know what you know. Only you will know where to go."
The Curro choir performed for the parents and George Mayor Jackie von Brandis, who helped to plant a Curro rose at the school's entrance.
