Update
GEORGE NEWS - In the latest update from George Municipality, they have said that George Municipality’s Civil Engineering Services have made good progress in restoring water supply to areas affected since yesterday.
Restoration progress
Uniondale – Rietvlei
Good progress has been made to restore water supply to the Rietvlei area in Uniondale after the main water supply line was washed away during recent heavy rainfall. A water tanker remains on site to provide water to affected residents until full supply is restored.
George water supply
The following outages have been resolved and water supply restored:
• Glenwood Avenue
• Mossie Street, Denver Park
• Rooiels Street, Heather Park
• Victoria Heights (the area was fully restored yesterday but another fault occurred which was restored).
Current work in progress
Municipal teams are currently attending to the following areas:
• Sprigg Street
• Twee Rivieren is awaiting the removal of a fallen tree before repair work can proceed.
Repairs are ongoing and nearing completion.
The Glenwood Golf Course has lost a number of trees.
Water usage appeal
Several reservoirs are still recovering following the recent outages. Residents are urged to continue using water sparingly to assist with the restoration of normal supply levels.
