GEORGE NEWS - New traffic signals will be installed at the Davidson and Scout Street intersection.
During the implementation of the traffic signals open trenching in Scout Street will be done to install sleeves.
Pipe jacking will be done across Davidson Street to minimize traffic disruptions.
Temporary traffic accommodation by means of a Stop-Go will be used.
Construction period:
- Exposing of services to commence on 18 August.
- Test date of traffic signals between 22-26 September.
- Finalisation of the road marking between 6-10 October.
- Final commissioning date between 15-22 October.
Services disruption:
Traffic using Davidson and Scout Street will be affected, and temporary traffic deviations or a Stop-Go will be in place to accommodate traffic movement.
Safety information:
During the signal testing and flashing period, road users are requested to treat the intersection as a four-way stop and proceed with caution or obey the instructions of the traffic warden on site, where applicable.
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday: 07:00 to 18:00
- Saturday (if required): 07:00 to 14:00
Traffic impact:
- Caution needs to be exercised by residents, road users and pedestrians throughout the duration of the construction period. Adherence to flag persons, temporary road signage, and markings will be required.
- Stop and go's will be implemented where necessary.
