GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality is aware of the large number of streetlights currently not functioning across the city.
"We are still in the recovery phase following recent weather events. Six electrical teams have been deployed across George, working urgently to repair damaged streetlight circuits and restore services.
"Unfortunately, ongoing challenges such as vandalism and cable theft are further impacting progress. Despite this, teams are working continuously to restore affected circuits as quickly as possible.
"Our target is to have more than 90% of streetlights operational by Friday, 3 July.
"We understand the frustration experienced by communities and kindly ask for your patience and cooperation during this period."
