GEORGE NEWS - Residents are urged to refrain from dumping tree branches and green waste in open spaces.
Following last week’s storm, the Municipality established temporary green waste drop-off sites with the intention of chipping the waste.
These temporary sites are now full.
Community members and waste transporters are requested to rather dispose of all green waste and tree branches at the Gwaiing Waste Disposal Facility.
If the facility is temporarily closed, residents are requested to be patient and allow the Municipality time and space to create additional capacity at the landfill site.
Illegal dumping remains prohibited and negatively impacts the environment and surrounding communities.
