GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality wishes to inform all residents that municipal account statements are being issued via SMS or email, containing a secure link through which statements can be accessed.
Please note that statements are not attached as PDF documents.
Residents are required to download their statements via the dedicated secure link provided. This communication is legitimate and not spam.
The use of a password-protected download link forms part of the Municipality’s measures to safeguard residents’ personal information in compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Password information
The password required to access the statement is the new account number. This number is clearly indicated in the SMS message and in the subject line of the email sent by the Municipality.
The Municipality is currently experiencing a technical issue affecting the download server. This matter is receiving attention, and technical teams are addressing the issue.
Residents are thanked for their patience and understanding. A further notice will be issued once the technical issues have been fully resolved.
