GEORGE NEWS - George Municipality has issued a public notice regarding the immediate, temporary closure of the local landfill site.

The closure comes after the facility reached full operational capacity, compounded by unforeseen technical issues on site.

Municipal teams are actively working on-site to clear and create additional space at the front-end section to resolve the bottleneck. Officials have assured residents that the landfill will reopen as soon as operations can resume safely.
