With reference to the above article in the Herald on 15 August, I do think "the positve business movement in the CBD" it is creating a problem. PARKING. There is insufficient now. If one tries to find parking to visit Travel Bugs or Harvey Travel there is very seldom any parking. Parking at Mediclinic is already a problem and Home Affairs alone needs lots of parking on its own. With a Dischem store opening soon, (which I am sure will be a very busy store) I wonder where the customers are going to park. There is also the added problem of the two major banks across the street. Is there no town planning rules to ensure that there is a minimum amount of parking available for businesses? Rather than drive around trying to find parking for Dischem, or either of the banks, I think it would be quicker driving to the Mall!! Which is such a pity as I love shopping in town. .
