GEORGE NEWS - The Friends of the George Museum has joined forces with Scava (South Cape Association for Visual Arts), the members of the George Music Society, and members of other groups and societies that form the cultural core of the local population, to bring a special gala evening to the museum auditorium.

This unique event will take place on Wednesday 22 May at 17:30 for 18:00. The guests of honour will be Heidi and Guy Mitchell, who will present a live art-music performance called The Journey. Heidi will play the classical pieces she composed to accompany each of husband Guy's paintings. Each composition demonstrates the painting's journey from the first brush stroke to the last.

The show promises to be entertaining and enlightening.

This is an event no classical music and art lover will want to miss. Entrance is free but the organisers would like a donation of R20 for refreshments. Wine and snacks will be served.

Art of all genres will be on show on the walls of the Sayers Art Gallery.

These paintings are by local artists whose skills are on a par with global standards.
