GEORGE NEWS - Local artists Sophia Seegers, Karin Combrink, Art by Shania H, Greta Helberg and Sea Love will showcase their artworks at the Enchanted Botanical Feast 2025 at the Garden Route Botanical Garden on Friday 28 November.
Seegers was approached by the organisers to donate a painting to be auctioned in aid of the botanical garden. In response she created a special work for the evening, titled Bloom and Beyond.
“The piece speaks to those who have walked through unthinkable pain and loss, who feel as if the heart has been torn from the chest.
"It was not crafted to please everyone, but rather to invite the viewer to look deeper, to pause and meditate, and to colour in the story for themselves," says Seegers.
"If Bloom and Beyond tugs at the strings of your heart, then it was painted for you, to accompany you on the journey towards healing, restoration and peace.
"The painting undergoes a change in the evening when a light is shone on it to reveal an image of hands that reach out to the onlooker to offer comfort and healing.”
The hands in the painting are revealed in the evening when light shines on it.
The feast promises to be an unforgettable evening of art, music and fine dining under the stars.
The gardens will be transformed into a glowing wonderland and guests will enjoy wine tastings, dance performances and live music. There will be a Wishing Tree where donations can be made in aid of the Garden. A 4-course dinner will be served.
