GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - The dark depths of obsession, passion and love unfolded in the drama, The Collector, showcased last weekend at George Arts Theatre, with two more shows to come on Friday 1 September (19:00) and Saturday 2 September (14:00 and 19:00).
The audience is introduced to the social outcast and butterfly collector, Frederick Clegg, who develops an obsession with the art student, Miranda Grey. Clegg decides to kidnap Miranda and keep her for himself, like he does with other beautiful butterflies...
The two leads are excellently performed by Dirk van Staden and Chrisma Theron, who captures the essence of the John Fowles award-winning novel on which the stage play is based.
Those who enjoy serious drama will be captivated by the character development of both roles.
