ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The George Male Choir invites men from George and the surrounding areas to an audition at Groenkloof Hub, George, from 09:00 to 11:00 on Saturday 22 August.
The choir is looking for new voices, and applicants aged 15 and older are welcome to audition.
Established in 1982, the George Male Choir has been bringing men together through music, friendship and a shared love of singing for more than four decades.
It is not an academic or professional choir, just a group of men from different walks of life and generations who love singing and enjoy creating beautiful harmony together.
Formal musical training or previous choir experience is not needed. “If you can sing, or simply have a love of music, you are welcome to come and audition,” says Chrisna du Preez, the music director.
The choir provides an opportunity for members to develop their voices, build friendships and share in the enjoyment of music.
They regularly perform at concerts, community events and other occasions. Choir practices are held at the Groenkloof Hub from 18:30 to 20:15 every Tuesday evening.
