From 1 July:

Footloose the Musical at George Arts Theatre (19:00). Footloose is a high-energy musical about a teenager named Ren McCormack who moves to a small town where dancing and rock music have been banned. As Ren challenges the strict rules imposed by the local pastor, the town’s young people fight for freedom, self-expression, and the chance to dance again.

Featuring hit songs like Footloose and Holding Out for a Hero, the musical celebrates the power of music, youth, and self-expression. Tickets cost R150 - R170 and is available on Webtickets.

Winter with Carpe Musicam! The programme explores music inspired by the winter season, featuring a creative mix of classical and popular works. On Sunday 5 July (15:00) at Sedgefield DRC/NGK; Friday 10 July (19:00) at Outeniqua High School Hall and Sunday 12 July (15:00) at Mossel Bay Curro School Hall.

10 July:

Up Close: A Jazz Session with Lynette Petersen at the Market Community Theatre (19:00). An intimate evening of vocal jazz, classic songs and storytelling. Tickets: R100 per person, book with Heather at 072 369 3304.

Emile Minnie in Concert at the Market Community Theatre (18:30). Minnie will deliver a concert as fundraiser for the theatre. Tickets cost R100 and R80 (pensioners). Book with Heather at 072 369 3304 or buy at the door.

19 July:

Breakfast Around the Sun with the Gauteng Guitar Quartet at the Market Community Theatre (15:00). This performance is presented by the George Music Society. Tickets cost R150 (members), R190 (public) and R50 (learners).Ticket sales at www.georgemusicsociety.co.za and at the concert.

26 July:

Selim Kagee's Il Mondo at the George Arts Theatre (15:00). A heartfelt musical journey through timeless love songs, cinematic ballads, and personal stories, performed by acclaimed vocalist Selim Kagee.

Featuring classics such as Il Mondo, And I Love You So, Bridge Over Troubled Water, and Always on My Mind, the show combines his signature semi-operatic voice with emotion, nostalgia, and charm. Guests are encouraged to dress in sophisticated formal or smart attire. Book a ticket at R300 through Quicket. No under 13s.
