ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - South African actress Charlize Theron has been nominated for an Oscar Award for the third time.
Theron previously won an Oscar for Monster in 2004 and was nominated for Best Actress for North Country in 2006.
She is nominated alongside Cynthia Erivo for Harriet, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, Saoirse Ronan for Little Women and Renee Zellweger for Judy, who won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical.
Some of the leading nominations at the Oscars this year include Warner Bros’ subversive comic book film, Joker, which scored 11 nominations. It was followed by Martin Scorsese’s Netflix film The Irishman, Quentin Tarantino’s ode to Los Angeles Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Sam Mendes’ war drama 1917, with 10 nods each.
The Academy Awards take place on 10 February 2020 at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles, California, USA.
