GEORGE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - The popular duo Bottomless Coffee Band (BCB) is headed for George again with a show on 4 November.
The multi-instrumental, alternative duo consisting of married couple Lourens and Esté Rabé from Cape Town was formed when the two were students at Stellenbosch University. After completion of their studies they both went into corporate careers; Lourens in the asset management industry and Esté at a corporate theatre company.
After the success of their 2014 debut album Room With A View, BCB became crowd favourites, which led to both leaving their corporate careers to pursue a full-time career in music.
With Lourens's background in Rock 'n Roll and Esté's training in drama and classical singing, this duo have formed something really unique in modern-day music.
Audiences love their melodic storytelling and electrifying performances that evoke the nostalgia of the folk rock legends of yesteryear.
With foot-stomping rhythms, hard-hitting lyrics and hints of the dramatic, they maintain a feel-good atmosphere throughout their performance.
After several successful tours in their home country, BCB embarked on their first international tour in 2016, visiting several countries in Europe and the UK.
Their second album, Anthelia, released in February, is enthralling and takes listeners on yet a new musical journey.
Their latest songs tell the stories of living life to the full - love, disappointments, inequality, passion, tears, joy, time and memories are themes throughout.
They recently returned from a successful UK tour where they toured with Anthelia. Lourens and Esté wish to inspire through their music and performances as they believe that music is a tool to unite and uplift.
They will be on stage at the Oakhurst Insurance George Arts Theatre at 15:00 on Sunday 4 November. Tickets are R120 and will soon be available at www.georgeartstheatre.co.za.
