ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Music lovers are in for a nostalgic treat when James Marais and Monique Cassells return to the Market Community Theatre on Friday 30 October with their energetic new production, The 70s vs 80s Tribute.
Following the sold-out success of A Trip Down Memory Lane last November, this popular duo is back to celebrate two of music's most iconic decades, bringing audiences a colourful mix of unforgettable hits, dazzling costumes and lively performances.
Marais and Cassells have been performing together since 2009 and have built a reputation for their entertaining tribute shows. Their latest production features music by legends such as Queen, ABBA, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, Bryan Adams, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Creedence Clearwater Revival and many more.
Marais, widely known for his Elvis Presley tribute performances, will showcase his versatility with favourites such as "Green Door", "I Am ... I Said" and "Dancing in the Dark". He has appeared on several TV programmes, including Noot vir Noot, Musiek Roulette and Jou Show.
Cassells, a powerful and engaging vocalist, will bring her own flair to hits such as "Mamma Mia", "Summer of '69", "I Want to Break Free" and "The Best". She made her TV debut on SABC 2's Musiek Roulette in 2018.
The duo will also join forces for memorable performances of classics including "Needles and Pins", "Who'll Stop the Rain?", "You May Be Right" and "Crocodile Rock". Book a ticket on Quicket, from R130 per person. - Compiled by Michelle Pienaar
