GEORGE NEWS - There is still time to help make Christmas a little brighter for a child through Santa Shoeboxes, and residents are encouraged to donate either individual items or an entire shoebox.

Each Santa Shoebox should contain four essential toiletries: a facecloth, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, together with a snack, age-appropriate toy, stationery and an item of clothing. 

Affordable snacks such as gummies are welcome as they do not contain nuts.

You do not need to have a shoebox to take part. Donations can be placed in a bag and dropped off, and empty shoeboxes will be available locally for the items to be packed.

Donations can be dropped off at Awnings & Blinds at the Pick n Pay entrance of 4th Street Mall, opposite Hope Church.

Every donated item goes towards a special Christmas gift for a child who might otherwise have very little to look forward to during the festive season.
