But God...

- May I put it quite simply? If you understand those two words – “but God” – they will save your soul. If you recall them daily and live by them, they will transform your life completely.
- Am I ignorant of God? Indeed I am. “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him – but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. 1 Cor 2:9-10
- Am I tempted to sin? Indeed I am. “Temptation … is common to man: but Godis faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor 10:13
- Am I foolish, weak, ignoble? Yes, that too. “But Godchose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of the world and the despised things - and the things that are not –to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.” 1 Cor 1:27-29
- Have I been the victim of other people’s sin and ill will? Probably, or at least I will be sooner or later. Still I will be able to say, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done. Gen 50:20 (James Montgomery Boice)
