Eastern Cape man arrested with 10 bags of dagga

NATIONAL NEWS - A 23-year-old man has been arrested in Matatiele with 10 bags of dagga worth an estimated R400,000 on the street, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.

Warrant Officer Vuyani Mapolisa said patrolling police reacted on instinct when they stopped an Isuzu bakkie on Monday.

"The passenger of the bakkie jumped out of the vehicle and ran away. Police searched the bakkie and found the dagga."

The man faced a charge of possession of dagga, Mapolisa said.
