EDENfm appoints new board

GEORGE NEWS - EDENfm, the community radio station in the Southern Cape, recently had a very successful Annual General Meeting (AGM) where the radio station's annual and financial reports were delivered and a new governing board was appointed.
The Chairperson of the new board, Mr Derick Petersen, thanked all for putting their faith and trust in the newly elected board to take the station effectively further. He said that now more than ever, the need for a locally based radio station exists which can keep the Southern Cape listeners informed, educated and entertained with regards to all local matters of interest within our beautiful paradise, the Eden District Municipal area.
He said that listeners and clients must keep themselves ready for fresh and professional radio that will bridge gaps and celebrate the diversity of all the people within the station's broadcasting area.
The new board has confirmed their faith and trust in the current station manager, Mr Morné Pietersen, and the present staff to build the station as the Southern Cape's preferred "Voice of Choice".
The station has extended its broadcasting area and now covers the whole of the Eden Municipal area - with the Uniondale, Haarlem transmitter being installed later this year. Listeners and clients are invited to be part of the powerful medium of radio to showcase and keep our beautiful region informed, safe and marketable.
A Rediscover EDENfm drive with local municipalities is planned in the form of a roadshow to the different towns. Appearances of South African celebrities, a Miss EDENfm pageant and a December Summer festival are planned for later in the year.
