Soweto woman arrested for neglect

NATIONAL NEWS - A Soweto woman has been arrested for child neglect after leaving her four-month-old baby alone at home while she went out drinking, Gauteng police said on Monday.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the 28-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday.
"The father of the four-month-old baby girl went to the woman's house in Zola yesterday [Sunday] and saw that she had left the child alone," he said.
"He then looked for the woman and found her drunk in a shebeen. He called the police and they arrested the woman."
Makhubela said the baby was now in her father's care.
