GEORGE NEWS - If you don't want to miss out on a fun day, filled with interesting historical talks, the day to pencil into your diary is Monday 24 September 2012, South Africa's official Heritage Day holiday.
The tour starts with a breakfast and talks at the Transnet museum, followed by a ride up the mountain with the Power Van, a talk at Topping where there are fascinating stories to be heard about the historical Montagu Pass, a stop-over at the old toll house from where mini busses will take the guests to Kosie Lampbrecht's car museum situated past Fancourt.
The organisers hope to offer rides in vintage cars should drivers be available.
The Friends of the Toll House are working towards this tour being held on a regular bases as part of their fundraising effort, but more importantly, to add product to George's tourism industry. Foreigners are particularly fascinated by our history and culture.
Their are only 50 tickets available as the Power Van takes 25 passengers per trip.
