SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The SWD Eagles learned some important lessons from last week's game against the EP Kings - and they're ready for the Witbank-based Pumas when they visit Outeniqua Park tonight (Friday).
This according to Eagles coach Johan Lerm.

"We're positive and we've worked hard to rectify the mistakes we made on defence against the EP Kings," he says.
"We did well on our first outing against the Border Bulldogs, beating them 46-8, and it's a well-balanced team, with the right mix of talent and a good selection of experienced and younger players."

Lerm says that the team for tonight will be:

15. Elrich van Vuuren; 14. Clint Wagman; 13. Kempie Rautenbach; 12. Stokkies Hanekom; 11. Alshaun Bock; 10. Kurt Coleman; 9. Johan Herbst; 8. Michael Vermaak; 7. Shaun Raubenheimer; 6. Wilhelm Koch (Captain); 5. Hein Potgieter; 4. Grant le Roux; 3. Grant Kemp; 2. Hans van Dyk; 1. Jean Rossouw. Reserves: 16. Sydney Tobias; 17. Layle Delo; 18. Lehan Koekemoer; 19. Dumisani Meslane; 20. Mzo Dyantyi; 21. Theuns Kotze; 22. Jeff Taljard.

The list will be published on the team's website, www.swdeagles.co.za, and on billboards at Outeniqua Park. It will also be posted to the Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SWDEaglesRugby.

Fitness coach Quinten Rall says the team is looking good for Friday.

"They're fit and strong, and we haven't had many injuries - but they do need a good rest ahead of the game, so we'll be training today, and then giving the guys some time off."

SWD Eagles CEO Johan Prinsloo says the team is enjoying growing support in its home region.
"The people of the Garden Route and Klein Karoo are getting behind the boys, and we're hoping that they'll be out in force on Friday for a great evening of really good rugby."

He said that the SWD u/19s will play a curtain-raiser against the Blue Bulls u/19s. "The main match kicks off at 19:00, and when the Eagles run onto the park, I think everyone will see immediately how our increased co-operation between management, coaches, and players has benefited our game."
