Diocese of George celebrates centenary

The Anglican Diocese of George is celebrating its centenary this year and celebrations culminate this weekend with a special programme being presented from Friday to Sunday, 14 to 15 July.
The programme for Saturday 14 July is as follows:
• A Funfair with numerous activities including sport, music and stalls will be presented at the Pacaltsdorp Rugby Stadium. Festivities start at 09:00.
• A youth get-together at Step-a-Side, Blanco. Contact Wilena on 082 484 6923 for more information. Starting time is 16:00.
• A night vigil by Bernard Mizeki Men's Guild at Christ the Redeemer. Starting time is 20:00.
The weekend programme concludes with a thanksgiving mass service on Sunday at the Outeniqua Rugby Stadium. The musical tradition of the George Diocese spans the entire genre from praise and worship groups (guitars and drums) through to the Diocesan Choir Association.
Many of these musicians will be leading the worship at Outeniqua Park when the Archbishop of Cape Town will preside at a service of thanksgiving. It will start at 10:00.
