NATIONAL NEWS - A man was arrested at the Florida fire station on Wednesday afternoon after an attempted hijacking, Johannesburg emergency services said.
"Apparently he was trying to hijack a car and he then ran to the fire station. We just heard shots," spokesman Robert Mulaudzi said.
The security guards and police at the station apprehended the man at 1pm.
Mulaudzi was unsure whether the man was injured during the arrest. Police were combing the area for a second suspect, he said.
No further details were available.
