Make a pretty thing for a little thing

Over 80 000 children have benefited from the kindness and generosity of older persons since the start of Pretty Things for Little Things. Entries for this year’s competition close on 31 August.

SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Most people of over 60 are creative, resourceful and caring. During the annual Pretty Things for Little Things competition they have the opportunity to demonstrate just that.

By making something pretty and practical for a needy child, they will bring joy to someone's heart and stand a chance to win some exciting prizes.

It is the 10th year that the competition is taking place.

There are four categories:
• Cute items of clothing;
• Cuddly soft toys;
• Fluffy blankets;
• Items made from wood or metal.

Participants may enter one or all categories and there is no limit to the number of entries.
Items must be 100% child friendly. All items will be handed out to needy children throughout the Western Cape before Christmas.

The project runs from June to the end of August.

All items will be judged provincially. An item that wins first prize, will go into a national draw and therefore its creator also stands the chance of winning nationally.
