Improve yourself with hypnotherapy
09:30 (GMT+2), Fri, 08 June 2012
LIFESTYLE NEWS - Do you long to become the best you that you can possibly be? Then hypnotherapy is just the answer for you!

A brand new hypnotherapy studio, HypnoBliss, recently opened in Hartenbos (Aura Aesta Building, room 1) and the owner, Zandri Landman, prides herself in using simple, effective, non-invasive techniques that puts you back in control.

Hypnotherapy is not a common term and many people don’t know what it actually entails.

Zandri answers some frequently asked questions:

What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of non-invasive hypnosis that empowers you to reach your ultimate potential and become a happier, healthier, more confident you.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is simply a very relaxed state of being that cannot be reached by simply lying down on a bed. When we enter this relaxed state, our senses actually become heightened and we become more aware of sounds and smells around us.

How does hypnotherapy work?

We all have a conscious and subconscious mind. We use our conscious mind to think, act and make decisions, while our subconscious mind is in control of our habits. When we enter hypnosis, our subconscious mind becomes more open to helpful suggestions. Because we communicate with the subconscious mind during hypnosis, it is easier to change our deep seated habits and reach our goals.

Uses of hypnotherapy
By using hypnotherapy, you can make ama-zing changes to literally any aspect of your life. You can build your self esteem, gain confidence, quit smoking, lose weight, de-stress, improve concentration and so much more.

Can anyone be hypnotised?
Anyone from the age of seven years and up can be hypnotised, with the exception of people suffering from epilepsy, the developmentally challenged (IQ below 70) and psychotics.

Common myths about hypnotherapy:

Myth 1: You will be asleep

You will not be asleep during hypnosis. Your senses actually become heightened and you become more aware of your surroundings. You will hear everything that is said and remember everything that goes on around you during your session.

Myth 2: You will lose control

This could not be further from the truth. You remain in complete control during the entire process and you will not do anything that goes against your moral code. You are able to make decisions when you are under hypnosis, just as easily as you would be able to make decisions when you are fully awake.

Myth 3: You will reveal your secrets while under hypnosis

Because you are aware of everything that goes on around you and because you are in complete control at all times, you will be able to lie under hypnosis. You cannot be made to say or do anything that you do not want to.

Myth 4: Fear of being stuck in hypnosis.

You will never be stuck in the hypnotic state, because it is a very natural state. Should your hypnotherapist leave the room while you are in hypnosis, one of two things will happen. You will either fall asleep and then wake up (just like you do every day) or you will simply wake up.

Myth 5: Only the weak minded and gullible can be hypnotised

Because the process of hypnosis requires concentration, the best people for hypnotherapy are actually the more intelligent of the population.

Myth 6: You will forget who you are

Contrary to what the television may tell us, hypnotherapy is not brainwashing. You will be the same person when you walk out of the hypnotherapy session as you were when you walked in. The only difference is that you will walk out with a more positive mindframe.

If you would like to know more about hypnotherapy or if you would like to book a session, do not hesitate to call Zandri Landman on 076 865 2299.
