Young athletes excel at SA's

SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - Athletics SWD send a team of 36 athletes to participation at this year's combined ASA and SASA (Schools) Youth, Junior and U23 Track and Field Championships in Germiston and four medals were taken by SWD's athletic warriors.

Lorenzo Gordon (Oakdale High) won a gold medal in triple jump (15.21m) for boys 17 years, Stephen Klue (Outeniqua High) won a bronze medal in javelin throw (66.54m) for boys 19 years, Jo-Ane van Dyk (Outeniqua High) won a gold medal in javelin throw (49.19m) for girls 15 years and Anél Oosthuizen won a gold medal in the 5 000m walk (26.22) for girls 17 years.
