Keep it simply stylish
12:19 (GMT+2), Mon, 28 May 2012
LIFESTYLE NEWS - You can tackle the revamping of a bathroom with a lot of imagination. However do not forget the Kiss principle "keep it simply stylish".

There are many designs to choose from and too many to contemplate. So choose a design that suits you style and is one you are comfortable with. It could either be contemporary, country or cottage or traditional. Perhaps Asian, Mediterranean or perhaps eclectic, you will know when you see it. Page through magazines or visit the web.

At all times remain practical in your design. A bathroom does not like many nooks and crannies. Keep it light and airy. If you are revamping you need to consider the parameters of your existing bathrooms. A new bathroom can be planned from the outset as you need it. Less is more, is very true.

Some practical tips
Always ensure the shower mixer is in easy reach to avoid feeling cold water when setting you mixer.

Always get a bath with a centre plughole. Use a Nikki spout to fill the bath which also doubles up as an overflow.

Ensure that you have enough ventilation in the bathroom. Make sure you fit heated towel rails and with enough space you can even accommodate a small slow combustion stove. Under floor heating is always a good idea.

If you live where there is a view, consider bathing and appreciating it at the same time. Remember bathrooms are not storerooms.

Always tile small and badly ventilated bathrooms to the ceiling. Use mosaics cleverly and make features that match your style. Do not think that big tiles cannot be used if it is a small bathroom, the opposite is in fact true. The less lines, the less busy, the more simple.

If you are in doubt do not hesitate to visit our showroom in Commercial close and we will only be too pleased to assist you with products and ideas. Happy bathroom dreams.
