SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - The Southern Cape Closed Golf Championships were played in cold and windy weather in Mossel Bay when Breyten Meyer took the title.
The players had to play 36 holes and Meyer from the George Golf Club had to fight it out against Jacques Cloete from the Still Bay Golf Club.
It was a sudden death play-off on holes 10, 11 and 18. Meyer won on the 10th hole.
Heinrich Oosthuizen won the nett competition on 150 points.
Gross scores: 1 Breyten Meyer 151 pts; 2 Jacques Cloete 151 pts; 3 Robbie Botha 152 pts.
Nett scores: 1 Heinrich Oosthuizen 150 pts; 2 Anton Nel 152 pts; 3 Christo Carsten 153 pts.
