SOUTHERN CAPE NEWS - SWD Cricket has finalised the dates for the CSA Level 1 and 2 coaching courses (Dates for orientation and KFC coaching courses will be announced soon).

Level 1 courses will run concurrently in Mossel Bay, George and Knysna at 17:30 to 20:30 on July 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25. The exam will be written on July 30 at 18:00. The Level 2 courses will run in Oudsthoorn over the weekend of August 31 to September 2, starting at 14:00 on Friday and concluding on Sunday at 16:00.

Coaches will be expected to attend all the modules and lectures to qualify.

To attend the Level 1 course applicants must be 18 or older, have a sound understanding of the game (or have attended the orientation course or have a pre-2005 Level 1 certificate) and must obtain at least 80% in the pre-course test. Access to a computer is advisable.Applications for the Level 1 course close on Friday, June 8.

Applicants for the Level 2 course must be at least 21 years of age, must have a post-2005 Level 1 certificate (for more than one year) and/or a pre-2005 Level 2 certificate. This is the entry level for cricketers who have played first-class cricket.

Applications for the Level 2 course close on July 20. Since places are limited all qualifying cricketers are urged to apply timeously.
