Mall run just around the corner

The start of the previous Garden Route Mall Race.

GEORGE NEWS - The Garden Route Mall 10km and 5km run and walk will take place this year on Saturday 9 June, starting and finishing at the Mall.

The 10km will start at 08:00 and the 5km fun run at 09:00.

The first 250 athletes in the 10km will receive medals and the first 100 in the 5km. There will be goody bags that include a T-shirt for the first 200 in the 10km. There are also great cash prizes on offer in the different categories.

The entry fee for the 10km race is R35 for club athletes and R25 for a temporary licence. The race will be electronic chip-timed and the entry fee includes R5 for the chip hire.

In the 5km race the entry fee is R20. No timing will be done in this race.

The race is also incorporating the Athletics SWD 10km championships.

Entries can be done on www.onlines.co.za, but entry forms are also available on www.aswd.co.za or at the Guest Relations desk at the Garden Route Mall.

No race day entries for the 10km will be done. Late entries will be accepted on 8 June between 17:00 and 19:00 at the fountain area at the Mall.

Pre-entries close on 4 June. Entries are now also being accepted at Tekkie Town at the Knysna, Garden Route Mall (George), Langeberg Mall (Mossel Bay) and Oudtshoorn branches. 5km entries will be accepted on the morning of the race between 06:30 and 08:45 at the starting area, opposite Fruit and Veg City at the Garden Route Mall.
