NATIONAL NEWS - The High Court in Pretoria will hear an urgent application on Tuesday to force the department of basic education and the Limpopo education department to supply textbooks to the province's schools
Section 27, a public interest law centre, the Hanyani Thomo Secondary School and Tondani Lydia Masiphephethu filed the application on May 4.
The application would direct the departments to provide textbooks to learners by May 31, and create a "catch-up" plan to make up for parts of the curriculum that were missed, Section27 said on its website.
It said the application was to have been on Monday, but that neither department had filed an answering affidavit.
The date was moved to Tuesday to allow them to do so.
