INTERNATIONAL NEWS - Today, Saturday, 12 May is International Nurses Day.
This year's theme is 'Closing the Gap: From Evidence to Action'.
This date celebrates the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth and honours the committed and devoted work done by nurses worldwide. Florence Nightingale is widely considered as the founder of modern nursing.
The number of nurses constitutes almost half of the healthcare workforce in the Western province.
Today we celebrate the contribution nurses make to our society.
