NATIONAL NEWS - Three people were killed when a truck and car crashed head-on outside Potchefstroom on Friday morning, North West paramedics said.
The accident happened 10km outside the town on the N12, ER24 spokesman Andre Visser said.
"When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene they could see that the collision was severe, judging by the amount of damage sustained to the car, a Volkswagen Golf," he said.
The three people in the car, two men and a woman, were killed but the driver and his companion in the truck escaped serious injury.
"The cause of the incident is unclear at this stage," Visser said.
The VW Golf was travelling in the direction of Johannesburg when the accident happened.
