GEORGE NEWS - Shaun Smith and Drikus Bruyns have both achieved their goals set for 2012, when the two members of the Ernie Els & Fancourt Foundation will represent SA in the All Africa Golf Tournament and then shortly after depart on a four week tour to Scotland.

Smith, who is a member at Fancourt and was the head boy at Glenwood House in 2010 and Bruyns, who matriculated at Outeniqua High in the same year, played themselves into this elite group of golfers with a series of solid performances in tournaments throughout SA over the last two years.

"This is what every top golfer wants to achieve," Smith said.

"I am very proud of the fact that I will represent my country in Malawi and then in Scotland - the home of golf."
According to Bruyns, who is a member at Hex Valley GC near Worcester, he has worked very hard on his game since leaving school.

"Since I finished school in George I have set myself a few goals regarding my golf - playing for SA was one and therefore I will wear the jacket with pride on the two trips," Bruyns said.
