Court manager jailed for fraud

NATIONAL NEWS - A Tzaneen court manager was sentenced to 22 years in prison by the Polokwane Magistrate's Court for fraud, Limpopo police said on Wednesday.
Lt-Col Mohale Ramatseba said Ngwako Paris Makgopa, 53, was convicted of defrauding the department of justice of R286,291 during 2007.
Makgopa was arrested in 2010 after fraud irregularities were discovered.
Ramatseba said Makgopa inflated the prices of furniture procured for the court and in return received kickbacks from the suppliers.
Makgopa was found guilty last month on four counts of fraud.
