Fish tank better than TV in bedroom
15:19 (GMT+2), Mon, 23 April 2012
LIFESTYLE NEWS - If you're one of those people who likes to watch a bit of CSI or Masterchef in the bedroom, we have bad news for you. Research shows that a TV in the bedroom leads to poor quality sleep, so rather consider a fish tank.

Find a good pet shop that can offer you options on tank sizes and fish species, and who can advise you on maintenance. Once you are ready to install the tank, find a place in your room that is near the powerpoint and not in direct sunlight. It is usually best to get all the contents of the tank ready including water, before adding the fish.

WATER QUALITY
Remember tap water contains impurities that can cause problems when added to an aquarium. These include phosphate, nitrate, chlorine, and various heavy metals.

High levels of phosphate and nitrate fuel aggressive algae growth and copper, often present in tap water due to leaching from pipes, is highly toxic to invertebrates.

The quality of the water is critical and those who are serious about their tanks, understand that an Aquarium Reverse Osmosis system will keep the water at its optimum. No equipment is more effective in helping create ideal, pure water for all fishwater conditions than Reverse Osmosis (RO) units. These units filter out up to 99% of chemicals found in tap water by forcing tap water through a semi-permeable membrane that removes 90% to 99% of tap water impurities. The result is water that is free of minerals and other contaminants.

Our Aquarium RO Systems range from economy 3-stage units to top of the line 5-stage RO/DI units and are available to suit your exact needs.
