KeNako SA World Juniors
06:00 (GMT+2), Thu, 16 February 2012
GEORGE NEWS - Once again we are thrilled to have an international World Junior Golf Series (WJGS) event in South Africa, the KeNako SA World Juniors. To date we have received entries from 16 different countries for the 2012 tournament.

This is an exciting opportunity for South Africa's top junior golfers, both boys and girls, to be able to compete against high quality international competition. A tournament such as the KeNako SA World Juniors helps to improve our juniors' game of golf and helps these young competitors advance to the next level.

The KeNako SA World Juniors is the only event that affords South Africa's junior players the opportunity to play against the best junior amateurs in the world on home ground, an advantage that will help boost the their confidence tremendously.

This tournament also allows our players to earn points to be able to feature in the recently launched and exciting World Junior Rankings. The event has been oversubscribed locally and the most difficult task has been to turn away some of the juniors.
After the KeNako SA World Juniors 2011, several South African junior players travelled to the other WJGS major events in Poland, Germany and the USA. At the US Juniors, both of South Africa's number one juniors participated.

Haydn Porteous and Lara Weinstein will this time have home ground advantage and will be challenging to win the crown in their respective boys and girls sections. Haydn missed the 2011 tournament but after his first WJGS event in the USA in December, he is ready to give chase to the international boy's title.

Last year Lara Weinstein was the girls runner-up, indicating that she will be a strong contender this year.

We look forward to hosting this fantastic event where the best junior amateur golf is showcased and players make friends for life.
